Buying or selling a home is ultimately the biggest financial decision one can make -- that's why I am here as a real estate professional! After 30 years of Denver Metro residency, I have made both personal and professional investments in this area; my clients are treated as future neighbors. And all-inclusive care is provided for both buying and listing services. As a 8z Real Estate broker, I am an integral member of a hand-selected team that provides Market Wisdom to Every Zip Code.
I am originally from a small mining town, Mount Carmel, Illinois, but have always held Colorado dear to my heart.
In the 1980s, I made a permanent move to the Centennial State and followed that very passion! I have since lived all over the South Denver Metro area, having resided in cities from Aurora to Pueblo. And the Crystal Valley subdivision in Castle Rock is my current home.
Family is the quintessential essence of home life, and my family is incredibly important to me. My wonderful husband, Alan, is a builder and an electrical subcontractor. He has serviced the Castle Rock area for over 35 years.
And my two amazing sons, Ben and Mike, are both heavily involved in motocrossing. They have each earned professional status and traveled across the country racing in national competitions. (I am overjoyed with dual roles as both doting mother and devoted #1 fan!)
I am firmly committed to making a difference in my community. I was a co-chair and a sponsor for the Douglas County REALTORS Helping Hands Project. And currently, I am assisting to coordinate the David Hawksworth Kidney Benefit and Auction.
On the very rare off-chance that I am not busy, I love to stay busy! I enjoy hiking, biking, camping, canning, gardening, gourmet cooking and traveling. I have explored most of the United States and vacationed in Mexico.
Before venturing into the real estate industry, I performed a plethora of other professions. These occupational ventures have instilled a very hardworking nature to my character.
In 1994, I received my Bachelors of Science in Nursing at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. For 15 years, I was a nurse and achieved several advanced practice certifications, including Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
I then became a health care administrator and managed many employees. I have also worked with patients and families in the acute and home care settings. These experiences have helped me to understand the importance of constant follow up to comfort families with complex needs.
A long period of nursing fused my love of hard work and genuine care for people. And these qualities have conditioned common trends in my professional life: I take pleasure in acquainting myself with new clients, helping them to understand their needs and working diligently to achieve their goals. I then decided to test these specialized strengths at a new level.
I earned my real estate license in 2005. I am presently a member of the Douglas/Elbert County Association of REALTORS and the Colorado Association of REALTORS. And as a solid believer in constant professional growth, I am always striving to achieve new credentials and designations.
I completed the Graduate Real Estate Institute (GRI) in 2006, achieved my Master's in Real Estate (MRE) in 2007, and received my Certified Distressed Property Expert Designation in 2009. In 2010, I became Real Estate Owned (REO) Certified, which makes me an expert in bank owned houses, short sales and distressed properties.
My prestigious awards speak volumes to my natural talent in this industry. I kicked off my career in real estate with the Douglas/Elbert County Association Rookie of the Year title in 2007 and have continued my success with several esteemed honors including the RE/MAX 100% Club for 2006 and the RE/MAX Executive Club in 2007, 2008 and 2009. I was also RE/MAX Ambassador of the Month in August 2009.
And business is always performed with my clients as top priority. I address all trade relationships with a high level of professionalism, timely communication and the upmost integrity. With an understanding that the sale and resale of real estate is usually an arduous (and sometimes traumatic) feat; I do my best to ensure that the process is stress free and enjoyable.
I became a Broker/Owner at 8z Real Estate in 2009. I am incredibly excited with the direction this company is heading and am fully supported by inspiring ethics, state-of-the-art technology and unsurpassed professionalism. It has been an absolute pleasure and privilege to be an integral part of a hand-picked team that has combined to sell the most homes in Colorado in 2009.
There is no doubt, I am stimulated by the challenges of this profession, proud to be changing the way business is conducted and elated when transforming clients into lifelong friends.
